Following the line of Romare Bearden-inspired artwork is this project gem from Color and Collage! Rachel shows us how her students used our R15233 Skintone Paper to make these colorful Rockstar Portraits!

Rachel provided her class with photocopies of instruments such as guitars, trumpets, drums and more. What a great idea! After the students cut out their instruments, they created their characters from the Skintone Paper. Rachel stressed that students had to coordinate the position of the characters’ arms to appear as if they are holding the instruments properly.
The Skintone paper and instrument cutouts were combined with scraps of construction paper and newsprint to achieve a jazzy effect.
These artists are ready to rock ‘n’ roll! Rachel even provided her students with a holographic print paper to use for the disco ball. Talk about a jammin’ piece of art!
Thanks to Rachel for her wonderful post!
