Special Post: Feathered Nest Studio uses our Bug Bodies!

Spring is in the air and summer is just around the corner! What better way to get your children ready for some outdoor fun than make Bug Bodies into their favorite flying friends? Jennet of Feathered Nest Studio has once again adapted a great craft using our R2450 Bug Bodies. Check it out here!

The post, entitled “Kid Craft: Butterflies” was posted recently on April 29, 2013. Click on the link to visit Jennet’s blog for more details! Instead of using decorative paper to make the wings, as shown in this special craft post here, Jennet and her children used coffee filter paper!

butterfly-craftJennet had a spare package of the Bug Bodies in her supply closet and pulled them out to make these interesting designs. She made templates of the wings so that they could be reused to make more insect wings!

To make the wings, Jennet grabbed a few coffee filters and soaked them with watercolor paints. Her children combined a variety of colors to fully saturate the filters. After leaving them to dry fully, the templates were traced onto the filters and the resulting tracing was cut out.

Thanks to Jennet for this exciting post!
