MaryLea from Pink and Green Mama picked up one of our R15334 Crafty Leaves Kits and made these incredible animal collages! Her daughters pasted their animals against the variety of backgrounds included in the set. They’re so talented and creative! You can find their designs at this post by Pink and Green Mama: “Nature and Art Leaf Pictures.” It was posted on July 19, 2010. Go check it out!!
The girls didn’t just use them as collage pieces but actually put the leaves together to make different types of animals.
Among the animals MaryLea’s girls made were a butterfly, a fish and starfish, a cat, a snail, a dolphin and a duck! Head on over to the post to see more images like the one below.
Here’s a preview of the butterfly. It’s soaring into the sky with how wonderful it is! Having kids connect the pieces to make up parts of an animal, a thing or a person is important for their puzzle-solving abilities. In a collage activity that forms an actual image, children have to think carefully about the parts that they put together and make image associations to make a complete picture.
Thanks to MaryLea for a great post!
